He was born in the city of Rivera, Uruguay, on September 21, 1953. In 1962 he studied at the Escuela Taller de Artes Plásticas, with Prof. Osmar Santos. In 1964 he studied sculpture with Prof. Bulmini at the Centro Rodó de Rivera. In 1987 he entered the "Taller Lara" in Montevideo and studied at the Escuela Nac. De Bellas Artes from the University of the Republic, from where he graduated as Plastic Creator in 1998. In 1990 he participated in the Post Engraving course on acrylic at the Museum of Visual Arts, dictated by Prof. David Finkbeiner of the University of New York; the same year he studied engraving with Prof. Luis Solari and in 1995 Art Theory with Dr. Dorothée Willert. In 2000 he received a grant from AECI for research on Engraved in the National Calcography of the Real Academia de San Fernando, in Madrid.
He was born in Córdoba (Spain) in 1943, he came to America with his family in 1952. In 1958 he began his studies at the Pedro Figari workshop of the Horacio Quiroga association. From the city of Salto, Uruguay, with the Hungarian teacher, José Cziffery until 1965. He returned to Rivera that same year, immediately joined the Plastic Arts Workshop School As an independent painter, from 1968 he began to teach drawing and painting classes at the center. As of 1991 he settled in Madrid, where he currently resides.
Ely Albernaz was born in Rivera - Uruguay in 1947. He began his studies of drawing and painting in 1969, at the Escuela Taller Plastic Arts, with the Spanish painter Antonio Higueras and the Uruguayan painter Osmar Santos; ceramics and sculpture with Luiz A. Ospitaleche at the Rivera House of Culture, Uruguay. Eight times awarded in salons, highlighting the 1st Prize “V Salón de Arte Rivera” and the 1st Prize Trip to Spain at the Post Guernica Room, organized by the Embassy of Spain and the Bruzzone Gallery in Montevideo. Selected: International Biennial of Art of Rome, Italy 2002 and Museum of Visual Arts of Montevideo from December 2010 to February 2011. His works appear in collections and museums in Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Colombia, Spain, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, the United States and France. Currently, he continues to develop his public and private paintings and sculptures.
Nelson Leites studied painting at the ETAP in Rivera with Osmar Santos and Roben Queplert and sculpture with Nemecio Suárez and continues his studies in Montevideo with Maestro Edgardo Ribeiro with a scholarship from the Municipal Government of Rivera. Exhibitions: During his career he exhibited in the ETAP and Uruguay Club Hall, San José Hall, Montevideo Municipal Hall, Rocha Municipal Library, Moretti Gallery and Architecture Hall, Caja Obrera Bank, Café Tupinambá, Popular Hall, painting Contemporary Uruguayan, Guernica Gallery, Maldonado American Art Museum, Caçapava do Sul (Brazil) In 1979 he settled in Sweden and exhibited at the Alvesta Municipal Library, Sweden, in Genoa • Fiera del Mare Italya. Smáland Gallery in Alvesta. Sweden also participates in the Biennial of Cuba. Since 1986 he has held permanent exhibitions in his workshop in Alvesta, Sweden. In 1988 he made mural paintings in Gothenburg - Sweden.
